Janey Stansbury is a Certified Health and Fitness Professional who specializes in Personal/Functional Training, Core Conditioning (Pilates Mat and Reformer), PNF and Myofascial Stretching Techniques, Acupressure (no needles), Pain & Stress Relief, Hormone/Energy Balancing and Self Healing Techniques (including E.F.T.) She refers to the work she does as the Art of Balance. When it comes to exercise, nutrition and healing, she believes in individuality~ it is never a one-size-fits-all approach. She believes in quality vs quantity~ as well as excellent form and technique while exercising and that aging does not have to mean declining. The Art of Balance is about addressing each component of life as equally as possible: physical and emotional strength; mental clarity; balance/equilibrium; cardiovascular health; muscle im-balances; mobility/range of motion; weight management; core stability/control; nourishment; body awareness and posture; cellular hydration; calming the nervous system/decreasing cortisol & stress levels; hormonal balance/vitality; rest, recovery and sleep; fun/play and social time; exercises that are safe, enjoyable and effective. Janey can provide you with simple and quick 'energy' exercises to take home after one session that can empower a person to help reduce or eliminate emotional and physical pain without drugs; create happier, healthier hormones; increase range of motion in a tight achy body~while improving mood, focus and concentration (no matter what your age or gender.) Learn how to stay strong and healthy during 'flu' season; and potentially prevent injuries (sports specific or otherwise.) Call/text to schedule an appt: 269-579-5263 (JANE); or email Try a 'de-compression session' that would incorporate several of these modalities in 30-60 minutes to see what your individual body/energy responds to best!

Christie became certified in BTS/Les Mills in 2003, and currently teaches Cycling, and Group Power.  She has worked in the dental field for the last 34 years, and has worked for Dr. Domin in downtown Marshall for the past 2 ½ years.  Christie has always loved working out, and doing group fitness classes!  This came natural to her as her, and her husband love to do multiple day bike rides supported, and self-contained.  They have no children, but do a have a very spoiled yellow lab – Daisey.  In her spare time she loves to spoil her great nieces, and nephews, cross-country ski, hike, backpack, camp, take motorcycle trips (riding to Yellowstone last summer!), loves to go jeeping, and teach group fitness at a great gym – MCAC!!!

Linda is a BTS certified fitness instructor, and currently teaches Group Power.  She has been teaching since 1990 starting with Aerobics, and Step Aerobics.  Linda is becoming ACE certified as well!  She is a widow, has two daughters, one step-son, four grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.  Linda likes to travel, and especially enjoys hiking in the National Parks out west in the summer, and LOVES to exercise.

Karin Gallagher, Karin has been teaching group fitness for 23 years. She was first certified in 1990, and began teaching for Western Michigan University. Karin is a Les Mills certified Body Pump and Body Step instructor. She also teaches Spin classes. She loves teaching and working with the members, and has established many wonderful relationships through group fitness. Karin has been a licensed Social Worker for 20 years and has been the Director of Marketing at Maplewood in Marshall for 15 years. She utilizes her social work skills daily in her current position. Karin lives in the country with her husband Dave, critters; Mojo, Murphy and Sammy and loves every minute of it!! Her philosophy is, “If there is FUN involved, sign me up!”

Desiree is a certified Group Centergy, and Group Step instructor, and has been teaching for over 15 years. She loves teaching classes, and meeting so many wonderful people - which have become some of her closest, and dearest friends. Desiree also feels blessed to have her mom, and her sister as participants in my classes – she loves that!  She also works part time at Regional Medical Laboratory as a Medical Technologist, and has worked there for over 14 years on both first, and second shifts, and have appreciated the flexibility it has offered her throughout the years.  Desiree’s greatest joy, however, is her family.  She had been happily married to her husband, Roger, for 23 years, and have three children, Roger III, Michael, and Olivia.  They also have have a Shi Tzu named Maggie.  Desiree keeps very busy staying involved in all of her kid’s activities including band, soccer, swimming/diving, and cross-country, and wouldn’t have it any other way.  She thanks everyone for welcoming her to Minges, and looks forward to many wonderful times with you all!

BodyFlow™ is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

CXWORX™ 30 Minutes! Fucusing in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body. It’s ideal for tightening your tummy and butt, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention.

BodyCombat™ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors, you strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.

PILATES: Core training, centering and control. Without a strong core everything we do physically and emotionally is tougher. Learn to strengthen the core and breathe properly creating a stronger foundation. Pilates offers lifestyle changes and is like Yoga in that they are both disci-plines. Get strong with this great class. From beginners to the experts this class is highly recommended for all!

PILATES REFORMER TRAINING: Individual lessons with our certified Pilates Reformer instructor/trainer. Use the reformer to gain strength and flexibility for all muscle groups; always with an emphasis on core and breathing. Contact the club or inquire within for pricing and availability.

CYCLING: Do you want to burn some serious calories? This is the class for you! Also known as spinning, Cycling is low-impact on the joints, but offers all fitness levels a challenge. Our Greg LeMond bikes allow you to increase, or decrease your resistance, which provides you with as much challenge as you can handle! A great group class set to dynamic music and led by energetic instructors. You’ll feel like you’ve brought the ‘outside in.’  We provide the towel. You bring your water bottle!

ZUMBA: The largest Latin-inspired fitness brand in the world. “Zumba breaks all the rules.” As a dance-based workout, it is fairly free-form.   There is an organized flow to the routines, but you do not have to follow them perfectly.   Nor do you have to pay much attention to counts or turns, only to the beat of the music.   You must move your body to the beat – or, rather let the beat move your body.

Zumba emphasis is on the importance of each person enjoying the experience and the classes are all about joy and fun.     You do not need to know how to dance.   You do not need to memorize steps.   You just have fun and you get results.

What to wear? Loose and confortable Leotards, shorts, spandex shorts, cargo pants, baggy pants and T-shirts and lighter-weight shoes such as aerobics shoe, a court shoe, jazz sneakers.

Energize yourself!  Eating a healthy breakfast or cereal, or toast, eggs, or fruit is a critical fueling strategy. Breakfast also curbs your appetite, so after the workout you will be less likely to reward yourself with high-calories treats.     Have a light snack (fresh fruit, a cup of yogurt, or an energy bar) within an hour prior to doing Zumba to energize you, compared to having eaten nothing.

YOGA: A discipline the body loves! Create new Chi (Life Force Energy)! Yoga has been around for thousands of years. This discipline allows the body release through strengthening, lengthening and stretching which improves your flexibility. Yoga can center the mind and body while creat-ing balance. Relaxing meditation finishes the class. Several Yoga styles are offered. A great way to de-stress.
